There was a winning start in charge on Wednesday for Trevor Mathiane and Julien Outrebon at Marumo Gallants, where they were co-coaches in the place of dismissed Alexandre Lafitte.
They ended Gallant’s 12-match winless streak with a surprise 3-1 win at Chippa United in East London.
They had last won a game in late October and Lafitte was “suspended” on Monday after a 1-0 home loss to Durban City marked a seventh successive defeat for the club.
The Gallants co-coaches bring to 28 the number of different coaches who have taken charge of matches in the top flight this season.
Sinethemba Badela and Gavn Hunt are coaches to have worked at two different top flight clubs this season. Badela was briefly at both Chippa United and Durban City while Hunt was fired by Durban City in November but took over at Stellenbosch in January.
The Chiefs pair of Khaled Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze as well Pitso Dladla have had two separate caretaker stints. Dladla has not lost any of his five games in charge at Durban City.
Six of the 16 Betway Premiership clubs have coaching changes this season.
