Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele's relegation fears worsened on Wednesday as they succumbed to an embarrassing 3-0 loss to their Limpopo rivals, Marumo Gallants away - extending their winless run in the league to four games.
Baroka are placed 16th on the Premiership standings - three points behind 14th-placed and a win over Galaxy will see Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele boost their hopes of avoiding relegation to the GladAfrica Championship.
Kgoloko Thobejane, the Baroka head coach, is optimistic that his side will soon bounce back to winning ways, but he indicated that scoring goals remain their Achilles heel.
"We need results. Nine games to go. We are still number 16 on the log and [teams around us are increasing their] goal differences," Thobejane said.
"It was my first time experiencing this kind of refereeing in my coaching career. He was all over us. He did not balance things. Everything was against Baroka.
"We will push. We have to bounce back and we need a win, but how can we win? We are not scoring, we are just creating chances. It is disappointing. It is unaccepting to be in the position we are currently in."
Meanwhile, Galaxy are now winless in their last two matches in the Premiership following their 3-0 defeat to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at home on Wednesday.
As result, the Rockets are placed 15th on the league standings - three points above rock-bottom Baroka and a point behind 12th-placed Maritzburg United.
Sead Ramovic, the Galaxy coach, was unhappy with Ethan Brooks' performance against Sundowns, but he urged his charges to keep going and prepare for a big fight against AmaZulu.
"I think that we started well in the game with lots of energy. After the stupid mistake of our player [Brooks] we got a brilliant goal against us so I also have to congratulate the opponent," Ramovic said,
"This club is the benchmark in the league. They will punish every mistake you make so they scored like two beauties and then it's not easy to come back against a good team, especially after the red card we got.
"We played well with 10 men. We have to keep going. We have to improve our final pass. We have to get ready for a big fight against Baroka. Yeah, we have to be ready and we will fight for the points there."
Baroka: PLAYERS TO WATCH
Sekela Sithole: The skillful winger has blown hot and cold in his debut season in the top flight, but he remains a key player for Baroka and he will be keen to repay Thobejane's faith in him by playing a vital role in helping the team return two winning ways.
Evidence Makgopa: Baroka's first-choice striker, who is the reigning DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season, has now failed to score in his last 12 league matches. Makgopa will be under pressure to end his goal drought against Galaxy.
TS Galaxy: PLAYERS TO WATCH
Ethan Brooks: The Bafana Bafana international will be keen to prove a point when he faces Baroka following his disappointing display against Sundowns and he has a special ability to create and score goals for the Mpumalanga side.
Augustine Chidi Kwem: The bulky centre forward, who started 2022 well scoring in his first two matches, has now failed to score in his last two games. Kwem will be determined to regain his scoring form and inspire Galaxy to a win in Limpopo.
