Abenet Demissie was both hero and villain for Ethio Electric as they allowed Bahir Dar to come from a goal down to beat them 3-1
It was a very dramatic and entertaining match at the Dire Dawa International Stadium.
Ethio Electric came out smoking from the get-go, attacked Bahir Dar, and were dominant in possession.
Bahir Dar were guilty of missing guilt-edged chances early in the game.
Fitsum Tilahun then hit the post a minute later with a spectacular turn and shot from the right side of the box with his left foot.
Habtamu Tadesse, who would be instrumental to everything Bahir Dar would do in the game, fluffed a late chance in the 44th minute as both sides went into the break level at 0-0.
However, Abenet Demissie broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal to set Ethio Electric up to a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute.
Abenet was then sent off in the 66th minute for a second bookable offence, conceding a freekick right on the edge of the area and his team down to 10 men.
Fuad Fereja took the freekick and hit the upright but he equalised for Bahir Dar in the 83rd minute.
It became the Habtamu Tadesse show thereafter as Ethio Electric chased a winner. Tadesse scored not one but two late goals in the 88th and 90th minutes to put the lights beyond Electric.
