As the search for PSL promotion continues, Polokwane City dropped crucial points at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, while JDR Stars put five past their opponents.
To begin with, All Stars climbed up to third place on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, following their 2-1 away victory against MM Platinum.
With the game taking place at the Bidvest Stadium, All Stars extended their unbeaten run to four games, while the defeat left MM Platinum two points off the relegation playoff spot in 14th place.
In one of the shock results of the weekend, Baroka bagged maximum points in a 3-1 win over table toppers, Polokwane City.
Rise and Shine are now level on points with Casric Stars, who occupy second spot. The latter failed to capitalise onPolokwane City’s stalemate following their 0-0 draw against Hungry Lions at the Windhoek Draught Park.
Elsewhere, the University of Pretoria welcomed Pretoria Callies to the Tuks Stadium, as the visiting team recorded a convincing 3-0 win over AmaTuks.
In struggling to replicate their promotion chasing form of last season, Tuks are currently in eighth spot while Callies recorded two wins on the trot.
In the Mother City, Cape Town Spurs recorded a slender 1-0 win over Magesi at the Athlone Stadium, as Jarrod Moroole’s effort in the 58th minute separated the two sides.
The victory saw Spurs jump into sixth spot, while Magesi occupy ninth place on the table.
Also, Platinum City Rovers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Venda Football Academy at Olen park, while JDR Stars recorded the biggest win of the weekend following their 5-0 thrashing of TTM at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
