Panama have made seven changes to their squad to play South Africa in the two friendly internationals in Durban and Cape Town later this month as coach Thomas Christiansen prepares his side for the World Cup.
Panama last played in January with a home-based team in friendlies against Bolivia and Mexico but last played their full squad in November when their 3-0 win over El Salvador saw them qualify for the World cup
Christiansen called up players from clubs in 17 different countries for the game against Bafana Bafana in Durban on March 27 and again in Cape Town on 31 March.
There are recalls for the Besiktas defender Amir Murillo, who recently moved to Turkey from Olympique Marseille in France, and for Jose Cordoba, who plays at Norwich City in the English Championship.
Also back is Cesar Yanis, who is based in Chile, plus the Mexican-based midfielder Yael Barcenas and defender Roderick Miller, who plays in Azerbaijan and last played for the national side some 18 months ago.
There is a first call-up for Martin Krug, a teenage defender at Levante in Spain
The Panama FA said the players called up will be travelling this weekend, each from the countries where they are playing for their respective clubs, to Durban, where they will begin their training camp for the international break.
Christiansen and his coaching staff are scheduled to travel to South Africa on Thursday to prepare for the players’ arrival.
At the World Cup, Panama have been drawn in Group L where they face Croatia, Ghana and England.
