As another game week in the Motsepe Foundation Championship rolls on, Milford will look to continue their impressive run of form, while the likes of Black Leopards and Baroka engage in a relegation slugfest.
Milford remains as the team to beat in South Africa’s first division after 18 matches played, and heads into this weekend’s fixture in first place on 36 points.
Following consecutive wins against Leicesterford City, Lerumo Lions and Highbury, Milford will now take on 15th placed Midlands Wanderers on home soil this Saturday. Midlands faces the serious threat of relegation this season after earning only 17 points from 18 games played and last suffered a damaging 4-1 loss to Cape Town City on 15 February.
Black Leopards, who are bottom of the log after 17 completed fixtures with 12 points, will go toe-to-toe with Hungry Lions on Sunday. With only two wins to their name all season, Leopards recorded two losses and three draws in their last five and last tasted victory on 2 November 2025 via a 4-1 win over The Bees.
Then, as one of the most in-form teams in the league at the moment, Cape Town City could extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games as they square off against Lerumo Lions on Sunday.
The Citizens secured seven wins in their previous nine league ties, only being denied by draws against Upington City and Casric Stars respectively. As for the latter mentioned outfit, Casric Stars will commence this weekend’s fixtures against The Bees on Friday.
Casric are coming off two consecutive draws against Cape Town City and Hungry Lions, sitting in fourth place, as they look to acquire a promotion position at the end of the campaign. The Bees face a different prospect altogether, as they target a winning return following losses to Hungry Lions and Baroko last time out.
Sitting two points above the relegation zone, The Bees accumulated only 19 points so far this season.
