Ghana have four new players in their squad for two World Cup warm-up friendlies this month as coach Otto Addo looks at new options to take to the tournament in North America.
They have included Dutch-born defender Derrick Luckassen, who played for Pafos of Cyprus in the group stage of this season’s Champions League, and the German-born defender Patric Pfeiffer from Darmstadt, who are chasing promotion to the Bundesliga, for two tough friendly matches against Austria and Germany.
Also called up for the first time are Marvin Senaya from Ligue 1 club AJ Auxerre and Dan Agyei from Kocaelispor in Turkey.
French-born Senaya was also named by Togo in their squad for matches this month.
Striker Agyei is London-born and made three previous substitute appearances in the Premier League with Bury.
Ghana play Austria in Vienna on Friday, March 27, and then go to Stuttgart to take on the Germans on Monday, March 30.
It will be a first outing for Ghana since November when they travelled to Japan and South Korea for friendly games.
The Black Stars did not qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco but did reach the World Cup finals where they will compete in Group L against Croatia, England, and Panama.
