Vodacom, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have announced Season 2 of the most exclusive fan experience in the history of South African football – the 2026 Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour, where a select group of fans will travel with the teams on their pre-season tours to Europe.
After the overwhelming success of the 2025 Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour, Vodacom, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are about to take this annual fan experience to even greater heights when a VIP group of their most passionate supporters are given an up-close and personal look at their pre-season preparations this July.
It is the single biggest football fan reward for Vodacom subscribers, with five Orlando Pirates fans and five Kaizer Chiefs fans allowed exclusive access to their favourite teams on their respective tours, the venues and dates of which will be announced later.
To win a place on the Tour, customers need to either purchase the R49 10GB data bundle that is available exclusively on VodaPay and which is valid for seven days, or any another advertised Vodacom products or services. They will then receive a link that takes them through to the competition entry page. Every completed competition page will allow the customer to stand a chance to win their spot on Tour. Terms and Conditions apply.
The lucky winners will spend time with the players at training sessions and at matches, and have an opportunity to meet their football heroes and get an inside look at what they’re planning for the new season.
“Last year’s Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour made history as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs opened their pre-season tour to a handful of really select fans and loyal Vodacom subscribers for the first time. Before this, no fans had ever travelled with the teams on their pre-season tours. It gave the fans a look behind the scenes of the preparations of two of the biggest clubs in the game. So we’re delighted that we can announce Season 2 of a reward that showcases Vodacom’s heart for football and these two iconic clubs, and bringing the fans even closer to their passion,” said Andisa Ntsubane, Managing Executive: Brand Marketing and Communications Africa, Vodacom.
The second edition of the Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour will take the magic of Mzansi to the fields of Europe, where the tsamaya skills of the Buccaneers and Amakhosi players will be cheered by the tsamaya passion of their fans.
Mpho Mamabolo won the opportunity to attend last year’s Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour with Kaizer Chiefs in The Netherlands, and described it as the greatest experience any supporter could be lucky to have.
“You feel blessed to win such a competition with such a great club, and especially with a club that you’ve loved and followed your entire life. It was a dream come true. It’s life changing. To be in the camp, to experience the players, to go abroad and meet so many amazing people – you just come back and your life is different. You understand football differently. You have a relationship with your team and you appreciate fully what goes on behind the scenes at Kaizer Chiefs. I would do it 10 times over again if I could.”
Jessica Motaung of Kaizer Chiefs said they’re looking forward to another equally memorable Tour with their fans.
“The first Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour was a special experience for our team as, for the first time in our club’s history, we were able to bring a group of very lucky fans on our pre-season journey with us. Vodacom has long been a very special partner on our journey as well, and we’re delighted that together we can once again share the passion for Kaizer Chiefs in such a unique and memorable way,” she said.
Mpumi Khoza of Orlando Pirates said: “Our Chairman has always said there is a reason the Vodacom logo sits in the centre of our jersey, because it is right by our heart. Vodacom shares our heart for our fans, and Season 2 of the Vodacom Tsamaya Pre-Season Tour is going to be another wonderful opportunity to give our fans an experience like never before.”
Teboho Mokemane won the Orlando Pirates experience to Spain and said he was blown about by the professionalism of the entire trip. “It was my first time overseas, and everything was on point. From the hospitality to seeing the coach put the players through their paces in training. I enjoyed myself so much. We had a fantastic group of winners and we all enjoyed ourselves. Marbella was beautiful. I’d encourage any fan to please enter. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
