Both Yusuf Maart and Antonio van Wyk started on Tuesday as their Austrian club SV Ried won 2-1 at home to Grazer AK to stay on course for a place in European club competition next season.
Ried, who were promoted from the second division last season, finished the regular campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga in ninth place, missing out on the championship round but are in top place in the relegation play-offs and if they remain top will get a chance to play off for a place in next season’s Europa Conference League.
They have four matches left to play this season, starting with Saturday’s clash at WSG Tirol in Innsbruck.
It was Maart’s 24th league start of the season while Van Wyk has started 22 games and scored three goals.
Maart joined at the beginning of the campaign after scoring the Nedbank Cup winner for Kaizer Chiefs against Orlando Pirates last April while Van Wyk is in his second season in Austria after joining from Stellenbosch.
