Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia rose on its collective feet to salute striker Moses Shumah after he struck a hat-trick for Power Dynamos FC to edge ZESCO United 3-2 in a five-goal thriller on Sunday.
The Kenyan took his tally to 12 goals as the MTN Super League leading scorer after finding the back of the net in the 18th, 65th and 74th minutes in the Zambian copper mining town of Ndola.
Shumah gave the league holders the lead before ZESCO United responded through Amine Hiver in the 33rd minute and five minutes later, the Chadian made it his brace of the afternoon to give the visitors the lead at the break.
HOW SHUMA DECIDED THE NDOLA THRILLER
Matters were left in the hands of the Harambee Stars man to have a final say as he scored two more to complete his treble for the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League representatives for Zambia.
The former Kakamega Homeboyz forward scored in the 65th minute with a well-timed header past ZESCO United goalkeeper Phillip Sakauta to pull the game level.
The goal came just when the hosts thought they would wind down the click and win the match. He then netted the winner to stun the home crowd.
Shumah left the pitch to a standing ovation after Brian Masanyinga replaced him with four minutes remaining on the clock.
The 14th league victory in 22 matches of the season put Osward Mutapa’s charges five points clear of second-placed Red Arrows, who had been leading the race for the better part of the campaign.
