The 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League final is set to deliver an exciting showdown, as South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns face Morocco’s AS FAR in a two-legged contest for continental supremacy.
The opening leg will be played in Tshwane (Pretoria), South Africa, on Sunday, 17 May at 2pm GMT (4pm local time). The tie will then shift to Rabat, where the decisive second leg takes place on Sunday, 24 May at 7pm GMT (8pm local time).
This year’s final brings together two former African champions eager to reclaim glory. Sundowns are targeting a second title after their 2016 success, while AS FAR aim to end a 41-year drought, having last lifted the trophy in 1985.
In addition to the prestige of winning Africa’s top club competition, both teams will be competing for a record prize. CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe recently confirmed that the champions will earn US$6 million, representing a 50 per cent increase.
