Lyle Foster scored his first Major League Soccer goal on Saturday as Houston Dynamo drew 2-2 away at Minnesota United.
It was also the first start for the 26-year-old at his new club after moving on loan to the U.S from English club Burnley.
The goal was a fine individual effort as Foster’s high press on the defenders saw him snatch possession from Michael Boxall, the former SuperSport United defender, and power his way through to goal before tucking the ball into the net with aplomb.
Bongokuhle Hlongwane was in the starting line-up for Minnesota, making only a sixth start of the season after spending much of the campaign coming off the bench as an impact substitute.
Mbekezeli Mbokazi continued his return from injury with a full 90 minutes as Chicago Fire earned a 2-1 victory over New York City at Soldier Field on Saturday.
The result put Chicago into second place in the Eastern Conference and well on course for the end of season playoffs.
Mbokazi was playing his second match back after the thigh injury that threatened to keep him out for the rest of the year but from which he has made an earlier than expected recovery.
Puso Dithejane, returning to the U.S after winning his first Bafana Bafana cap, came on for the last 20 minutes of the game which Chicago won three minutes from the end.
