Belgium's away kit at the World Cup later this year will pay homage to legendary Belgian artist, and a leading light in the surrealist movement, Rene Magritte, the country's football federation (RBFA) said on Friday.
The shirt will be sky blue with an inscription on the collar of "this is not a shirt", a reference to the iconic 1929 'Treachery of Images' painting by Magritte and the quote "this is not a pipe".
This is not the first time the RBFA has used the strip to celebrate Belgian culture.
It’s a Belgian thing, René Magritte would understand. 🍏 #FIFAWORLDCUP pic.twitter.com/6sP83HZCtM

The Red Devils' away shirt at Euro 2024 paid homage to the comic book character Tintin and his creator Herge.
Belgium – whose home kit is red – will give the shirt its first outing in a pre-World Cup friendly against co-hosts the United States on 28 March in Atlanta.
