Veteran Polokwane City midfielder Manuel Kambala and former Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs fullback Edmilson have both been included in Mozambique’s squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Senegal and Sudan this month.
The 35-year-old Kambala remains a stalwart in the squad, while Edmillson, now playing club football in Iraq, is another familiar face in the 25-man squad named by coach Chiquinho Conde.
Newcomers to the squad are goalkeeper José Guirrugo and midfielder Cândido Mathe from Associação Black Bulls and Bruno Wilson, whose Mozambican grandfather Mario Wilson is a former Benfica coach.
Mozambique were due to play Senegal in Dakar, but the match has been switched to Maputo because of the impending Youth Olympics in the country.
The game is now in Maputo on 25 September, and after that, Mozambique will host Sudan, also at the Zimpeto National Stadium, on 29 September.
