Durban City's winless run in the Betway Premiership continued after they played out to a 0-0 draw with 10-man Stellenbosch at Chatsworth Stadium on Friday night.
The wet weather conditions didn't make for a great spectacle of football and Pitso Dladla's side weren't able to take advantage of the extra man after Mthetheleli Mthiyane was sent off early in the second half.
The Citizens moved up one place to sixth as they leapfrogged Polokwane City in the table on goals scored, with MTN 8 qualification looking like a distinct possibility next season.

The newly-crowned Nedbank Cup champions went in search of their first win six league games, while Stellies looked to get their top-eight challenge back on track following successive defeats against Rise And Shine (1-0) and Orlando Pirates (2-0).
Chances were at a premium in the first half as the rain poured down in Durban, although the hosts had an early sniff at goal when Luphumlo Sifumba fired wide from range on nine minutes.
Gavin Hunt's side nearly hit the front six minutes before halftime as Tshegofatso Mabasa got off a shot that forced Fredrick Asare into a fine save to ensure the two teams went into the break still at level pegging.
The visitors suffered a setback 10 minutes into the second half with the dismissal of Mthiyane for a second yellow card, but they went close again on 61 minutes from a long-range strike by substitute Langelihle Phili that also tested Asare.
City piled on the pressure as the minutes wore on and Jean Lwamba should have done better when he steered a header wide right in front of goal from a 67th-minute free-kick before Siphamandla Ncanana missed the target as well with his header from a corner moments later.
However, the Cape Winelands outfit saw out the danger to clinch a share of the spoils and go level with Siwelele (9th) on 33 points in 10th place.
