The draw for the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinals will take place directly after Wednesday’s last first round match when Durban City host Stellenbosch at Chatsworth Stadium.
The Premier Soccer League plan to conduct the draw on the field once the match is completed and the field for the last eight decided.
The draw will be seeded with the four clubs that finished highest in the previous season’s Premiership standings in Pot A while the remaining four clubs will be in Pot B
The draw process will be a three-part affair:
1. A ball will be drawn from Pot A and placed unopened into Pot B.
2. A ball will then be drawn from Pot C and placed unopened into Pot B.
3. The first ball drawn from Pot B will determine the home team, while the second ball will
determine the away team.
4. The same process will be repeated until all four quarterfinal fixtures have been
determined.
Already through are AmaZulu, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Sekhukhune United and Siwelele, and Tuesday will see three more sides advancing.
Holders Orlando Pirates are hosting Milford; Mamelodi Sundowns have Marumo Gallants as their guests at Loftus Versfeld, while struggling Kaizer Chiefs have bogey team TS Galaxy at Soccer City.
The quarterfinals will be played on the weekend of 6–8 November, while the semifinals will be played after the international window on 21–22 November, and the final is scheduled for 12 December.
