Relebohile Mofokeng played only four minutes of the Brussels derby on Sunday as he came on as a late substitute for Union Saint Gilloise in their 3-0 victory over Anderlecht.
It was the third league match of the season for Union, who have seven points after two victories and a draw.
They have a catch-up game at St Truiden on Wednesday that if they win, will see them advance to second place in the standings behind surprise leaders Charleroi, who have won all four of their opening games of the campaign.
Union were runners-up in the Belgian league last season and compete in this season’s Europa League, starting away against Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic on September 17.
Kortrijk remained bottom of the Belgian table despite a first goal from new signing Shandre Campbell as they went down at home to Charleroi.
The 21-year-old Campbell equalised four minutes before halftime but Charleroi scored twice in the second half to take the points.
Former SuperSport United prodigy, Campbell moved from Club Brugge at the start of the season. He had spent two years at Brugge before the transfer.
