AmaZulu made it two wins on the spin in the Betway Premiership this weekend following an edgy 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as they claimed third position on the log.
Thandolwenkosi Ngwena’s lone effort in the second half saw AmaZulu claim their fifth win of the campaign while Gallants remain without a win after seven matches played.

Little separated the two sides at the Princess Magogo Stadium during the first 10 minutes, though the home team enjoyed a slight advantage in possession statistics.
Usuthu gathered steam during the midway point of the first half and often found themselves breaching the Gallant’s backline in the wide areas of the pitch.
While Liam Bern got forward on numerous occasions, Gallants used the same flank to progress upfield, with both sides faltering in the final third leading up to the half-hour mark.
However, AmaZulu broke the deadlock in the 36th minute as Thandolwenkosi Ngwena added his name to the scoresheet.
Following swift interplay on the edge of the Gallants area, Nkosikhona Radebe picked out Ngwenya with an inch-perfect cross before the attacker guided home a powerful header at the far post.
Gallants attempted a quick response after conceding but ultimately ran into aggressive defending by Usuthu, who likewise provided attacking threats toward the halftime whistle.
With a goal to the good, AmaZulu controlled large parts of the match as the hour-mark approached and put Gallants under pressure on several occasions.
Gallants kicked into gear leading up to the 70th minute mark and enjoyed spells of possession in the AmaZulu half.
However, the away side was often let down by a lack of quality going forward.
The travelers' game went from bad to worse in the 77th minute after Diala Manaka was shown his second yellow following a rough challenge.
Despite playing with one less man, Gallants gained momentum on the ball but were unable to penetrate the stubborn AmaZulu backline.
