Milford FC have taken a major stride toward the Betway Premiership after they defeated Magesi FC 1-0 in a PSL Promotion-Relegation Playoff clash at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Wednesday.
Khanyisani Radebe scored the only goal – six minutes into injury time at the end of the game – to see the Stallions open up a three-point lead over Dikwena tsa Meetse at the top of the mini log.

Milford started the brighter of the two teams and had a couple of half-chances for the likes of Menzi Chili and Bulelani Sigomoshe.
Magesi began to find their feet after the quarter-hour mark, and in the 21st minute they should have claimed the lead, with Mcedi Vandala shooting over from a half-volley after great work down the left by John Mokone.
In the 37th minute Vandala put Nyakala Raphadu in on goal with a clever pass across the edge of the penalty area, and the latter stabbed a shot on target that was brilliantly saved by Milford goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza.
The match was locked at 0-0 at halftime, and for most of the second half the teams struggled to produce clear scoring chances.
Milford’s Hleza was called into notable action again only in the 73rd minute, reacting sharply to keep out Godfrey Mashigo’s drive from just inside the penalty area.
And Magesi’s Elvis Chipezeze made his first major save in the 77th minute when he tipped over a free kick from Sigomoshe that looked destined for the top corner of the net.
The match looked set to send in a goalless stalemate, but deep in injury time a left-flank cross for the hosts fell kindly for substitute Khanyisani Radebe, who crashed home a low, left-footed volley to secure a famous victory for the Stallions – and one which could prove crucial in taking them to the elite level for the first time.
