Royal AM defender Thabo Matlaba again will be on the bench as team coach for Skepe Nkatole in their Phillys games starting on Monday.
Matlaba currently plays for Royal AM in the DStv Premiership. He was also on the touchline for Skepe during the 2021 edition of the tournament.
Nkatole, who lost in the round of 16 last year, take on defending champions Rebels FC in the opening game of the tournament at 9am at Ivory Park.
The game will be broadcast live on SuperSport channel 202 and 209.
Matlaba played at the tournament before turning professional and has praised tournament organisers and DStv.
"The tournament has really improved, with it being on TV many of these youngsters are given exposure."
"I love coaching and I hope I can impart some of the knowledge I have gained, having played here and playing professional football."
The former Free State Stars man says it’s not about the prize money (R200 000 is up for grabs) but making sure his youngsters showcase their talent and go on and sign contracts with Premiership teams.
