A trio of Ghanaian internationals were on target in Europe’s elite leagues this past weekend as Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Kudus scored for their Premier League teams, and Inaki Williams found the back of the net in Spain.
We round up all the top performers from Europe’s top leagues.
ANTOINE SEMENYO (BOURNEMOUTH & GHANA)
Winger Semeyo is getting better with every outing for Bournemouth and gave his side the lead against Aston Villa on Sunday. Unfortunately for him, Bournemouth could not grab the win despite hitting the front twice in the game and had to settle for a 2-2 draw, but it was still a strong showing from the 23-year-old. He collected a pass in a central position in the box and supplied a cool finish, opting to place his shot rather than blast it. That is three goals and an assist in seven starts in the league this season.

MOHAMMED KUDUS (WEST HAM UNITED & GHANA)
Another Ghanian winger who scored his third goal of the Premier League season, Kudus netted the opener as West Ham were frustratingly held 1-1 by Crystal Palace at home. The Black Stars midfielder has been arguably one of their most effective attackers this season though and has six goals and an assist in 11 starts in all competitions. It was another composed finish as he ran onto a low cross in the box and swept the ball home, via a slight deflection off the defender. He is emerging as a top, top Premier League player.

MOHAMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL & EGYPT)
It is now no goals in two Premier League games for Salah, the first time that has happened this season, but he continued to contribute to Liverpool’s cause with an important assist in their remarkable 4-3 home win over Fulham. The Reds trailed 2-3 with three minutes remaining but turned it around to pull off the win. Salah laid on the third goal for Wataru Endo, who blasted the ball into the net from long range. It was a sixth league assist of the season to go with 10 goals for the Egyptian.

NICOLAS JACKSON (CHELSEA & SENEGAL)
Senegal forward Jackson took some time to find his feet in the Premier League but has come good in recent weeks and laid on Chelsea’s second goal in their 3-2 victory over Brighton. His looping header back across goal was perfect for Levi Colwill, who was on loan at Brighton last season, to score Chelsea’s second. It was a first assist of the season for Jackson to go with his six league goals.
BRYAN MBEUMO (BRENTFORD & CAMEROON)
Brentford were made to work harder than they might have expected but came away with a 3-1 victory over strugglers Luton Town, in part thanks to Mbeumo’s assist for their second goal. It was his corner that was headed in, via a deflection, by Ben Mee as Mbeumo picked up a third assist of the season to go with his six goals. He will hope to be back on the scoresheet soon as that is now four games without a goal for the Cameroon international.

INAKI WILLIAMS (ATHLETIC BILBAO & GHANA)
Athletic Bilbao handed out a 4-0 thumping to Rayo Vallecano and Williams got in on the act with their third goal midway through the second half. It is his seventh already in LaLiga this campaign, and his fourth in six matches as he hits peak form. Add to that three assists and he has now reached double figures for goal contributions in 2023/24. A brilliant ball to the back post allowed him to side-foot the ball into the back of the net, but it still took some composure and technique to hit the target.
UMAR SADIQ (REAL SOCIEDAD & NIGERIA)
Sadiq scored in consecutive LaLiga matches for the first time in over a year as he netted for Real Sociedad in their 1-1 away draw with Osasuna. Sociedad were trailing when the tall Nigerian picked up the ball 35 yards from goal, drove towards the Osasuna box and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the back of the net. It was a goal of high quality from a player in a purple patch of form.
