Key quotes on Sunday after the third and final day of this weekend's Ryder Cup where Europe triumphed 16.5-11.5 over the United States:

"I'm quite relieved I must say."

Tommy Fleetwood on his drive on 16 which effectively ensured he would at least draw with Rickie Fowler and therefore win the Ryder Cup for Europe.

"I let it fuel me. I didn't let it take away from what's been a fantastic week. I used that little incident last night to my advantage."

Rory McIlroy on his blazing row with Patrick Cantlay's caddie Joe LaCava on Saturday night.

"I'm gonna enjoy this one right now, I'll figure out that one later."

Winning captain Luke Donald on whether he will skipper Europe in the 2025 Ryder Cup in New York.

"I told myself I wasn't going to look. It's hard not to see the scoreboards, right. I'm sitting looking at my putt and the scoreboards are right in my way. So it's hard not to catch yourself lingering."

Jon Rahm on worrying about his European teammates' performances while playing his own match.

"There's such a good bond between us. If one man is in a fight, everyone is in a fight."

Robert MacIntyre on Europe's team spirit.

"My competitive juices are flowing too much to function right now. I'll reflect on it and Team USA will be better off at some point. We will use this as motivation."

United States captain Zach Johnson.

"The defeat is on me, I made some poor decisions and I will reflect. Those 12 guys played so hard and fought for our country."

Johnson takes responsibility for the loss.

"I was disappointed to lose the last hole but how are you supposed to play it with those scenes? It was carnage. I felt bad for Jordan (Spieth) but that's how it is. Sure in two years time at Bethphage, they will be on their side."

Shane Lowry on finishing his match with the crowds already celebrating victory.

"You deserve this Ryder Cup more than anyone else, Tommy Fleetwood. You are an incredible guy and as everyone knows an exceptional golfer. Love you. Congratulations Europe to get the Ryder Cup back."

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola on social media congratulating his friend Fleetwood.
