There are two more derbies on the cards this weekend. One is the Valencia Derby kicking off this evening, the other the famous El Gran Derbi, which kicks off on Sunday evening.

Three games to look forward to watching this weekend include Levante UD v Valencia CF on Friday, 10pm CAT, next is D. Alavés and Cádiz CF on Saturday, at 3pm CAT and Sevilla v Real Betis on Sunday evening, at 10pm CAT.

Another weekend of intense relegation battle and two intense derbies coming up.

It’s derby fever all around LaLiga and Spain this weekend, and tonight we will witness the clash between Los Granotas and Los Che at the Ciutat de València. Since returning to LaLiga Santander in 2017, Levante haven’t actually enjoyed a derby win over their neighbours, with the most recent game between both teams ending in Valencia winning 4-2 - back on the first matchday. Levante are only 2 points ahead of Valencia, making this game an exciting one to watch. Some youngsters to keep your eyes on are Kang-In Lee and Yusuf Musah (Valencia) and striking partners Jorge de Frutos and Dani Gómez (Levante).

A bottom-of-the-table tussle is on the cards on Saturday afternoon. D. Alavés host Cádiz CF, a clash between 19th and 14th placed sides in the league. In comparison to Cádiz CF, Alavés may be more at risk with relegation and need every point they can conjure up. Cádiz CF boast veteran striker Álvaro Negredo, while Alavés have experienced and well-travelled Joselu. These two players are top goal scorers for their teams.

Then on Sunday it’s the El Gran Derbi. Sevilla FC and Real Betis square off at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in a game with major European qualification implications. Betis are currently positioned in fourth and Sevilla are in sixth spot, literally making this game ‘one of world football’s most electric derby matches’. Besides the legend captains, Jesús Navas and Joaquín, there will be so many talented players in action. Sevilla FC boast the best defensive partnership in Diego Carlos and Jules Koundé, while Betis have impactful attacker Nabil Fekir and an in-form striker of their own with Borja Iglesias.

African players to look out for on matchday 27

There are a number of African footballers who may make appearances on matchday 27 and this is who fans should look out for:

The Democratic Republic of Congo's Omenuke Mfulu’s side Elche CF will travel to Real Madrid on Saturday evening. Elche CF need points to help them stay outside the bottom three, but Zidane’s side need maximum points to keep them in contention for the league title.

Central African Republic’s Geoffrey Kondogbia will look to lead Atletico Madrid in their game against Getafe CF. Getafe will look for a win in order to avoid the risky relegation battle. Meanwhile Atletico are aiming for three points that will keep them in top spot.
