Kubo ignites Real Sociedad season against Granada

Takefusa Kubo hit a brace to help Real Sociedad earn their first win of the season in LaLiga, beating promoted side Granada 5-3 in San Sebastian.

Imanol Alguacil's side drew their opening three league games in a frustrating domestic start, as the club look forward to their Champions League return after a decade away from Europe's premier competition.

Kubo struck either side of Robin Le Normand's own goal to give Real Sociedad the lead at the break. The Japan international was a persistent threat for the Basque side.

Martin Zubimendi and Ander Barrenetxea helped pile on the misery for Granada with further strikes, as the Andalucians suffered their third defeat in four games.

Kubo's cross deflected in off Miki Bosch for the fifth, before Lucas Boye pulled one back for the visitors and Bryan Zaragoza blasted home deep in stoppage time.

Real Sociedad face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu after the international break, before hosting Inter Milan as they get their European campaign underway.
