The expanded competition, as promised, has delivered high-stakes drama right to the death, with the permutations for the coveted top 8 placings yet to be resolved. Unlikely trailblazers disrupting the European football hierarchy and historic giants could be on the verge of early elimination.
Africa’s leading sports broadcaster will make full use of its expansive range of channels both on linear television as well as OTT on DStv Stream to ensure that football lovers continent-wide do not miss a minute of the action.
Eyes will be at the Etihad Stadium as 2023 winners, Manchester City, who currently sit in the elimination spots, look to claw their way into a playoff position when they host Belgian outfit Club Brugge.
Elsewhere, Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint Germain will look to follow up their impressive come-from-behind victory against Pep Guardiola’s struggling Citizens with another three points when they visit the MHP Arena to tussle with VfB Stuttgart, who also have it all to play for with their position in the playoffs far from confirmed.
Hansi Flick’s ever-expansive Barcelona hosts the equally enterprising Italian rising power, Atalanta, in a fixture certain to produce goals judging from either team’s exploits in this season’s competition.
Defending champions, Real Madrid, will look to sneak in the top eight when they visit surprise package, Brest, while Liverpool has their sight set on a flawless group stage when Arne Slot returns to his home country to face familiar foes, PSV in Eindhoven.
