Birthday boy Dykes sends QPR third in English Championship

Lyndon Dykes celebrated his 27th birthday in style by scoring both goals as QPR defeated Reading 2-1 in the English Championship on Friday.

The win moved the Londoners into third place in the table but level on 24 points with leaders Sheffield United and Norwich.

Reading had started the night in third spot themselves and would have gone top had they won.

They went ahead at Loftus Road through Andy Carroll's penalty after 30 minutes.

But Dykes equalised with his first goal in 11 matches and then, with six minutes remaining, he netted from the spot to give hand his team a third consecutive win.
