Burkina Faso will battle it out with Algeria in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualification - Group A - match at the Stade de Marrakech on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 9pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

The Burkinabe Football Association (BFA) decided to play this match in Morocco after being barred from hosting the World Cup qualifiers having failed Confederation of African Football (CAF)'s venue inspections.

The Stallions started their Group A campaign with a convincing 2-0 win over Niger away on Thursday with Lassina Traore and Mohamed Konate scoring the two goals.

Lazare Bansse, the BFA president, has urged the team not to relax ahead of their clash with the Desert Foxes of Algeria and that they should sweat for the win.

''There's an equally important game on Tuesday and we are going to have to go out there and live up to expectations," Bansse said.

"There is a good mood that exists in the camp among the players, technical team, and leaders, and it is promising that they will sweat for the honour of the national flag."

Ukraine-based striker Lassina Traore is the dangerman for coach Kamou Malo's side as they look to end Algeria's impressive unbeaten run.

Meanwhile, Algeria extended their unbeaten run when they annihilated Djbouti 8-0 in their opening Group A match at home on Thursday.

Islam Slimani, Rami Bensebaini, Baghdad Bounedjah, Riyad Mahrez and Ramiz Zerrouki all scored as the Desert Foxes extended their unbeaten run to 28 matches.

Djamel Belmadi, the Algeria head coach, says their encounter against Burkina Faso will be more difficult as the reigning African champions target their second win in Group A.

“The match, we took it seriously, while respecting the opponent. The Djibouti coach thanked me for that. The players respected the opponent and applied instructions," Belmadi said.

“All opponents must be respected. This [win] is the best way to prepare for the match against Burkina Faso, which is more difficult to play."

Slimani remarkably netted four times against Djibouti and the Olympique Lyonnais marksman will be keen to continue his great scoring form against the Stallions.

The previous encounter between Burkina Faso and Algeria was on 19 November 2013.

Algeria secured a 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in a 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier at the Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida.
