Belgium will have their work cut out for them when they try to defend the title that they claimed in 2018. Ranked only behind three-time world cup winners Australia the Belgians will enter the tournament confident of their chances but they will know that the No 1 ranked team will be out to regain the crown they surrendered last time out.

Hosts India will be hoping to add a second title to the one they won in 1975 and will have the support of the adoring home crowd to spur on their efforts, while Germany, the Netherlands and Pakistan will be looking to rekindle their glory days in 2023, having all won world title in the past.

South Africa come into the tournament on the back of a morale-boosting triumph at the inaugural FIH Hockey Nations Cup, in December, and will be aiming to improve on their best-ever finish of 10th at a world cup.

Viewers can look forward to watching every game on DStv with games being broadcast LIVE on SuperSport throughout the tournament.
