Kaizer Chiefs will be desperate for a victory when they take on Golden Arrows in Tuesday night's DStv Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium.
Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT.
CURRENT FORM
Amakhosi stretched their winless run to four matches across all competitions when they drew 0-0 with Moroka Swallows at home in a league match on March 2. They are now looking to secure a morale-boosting win ahead of Saturday's Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates.
Chiefs remain sixth on the DStv Premiership standings - three points behind fourth-placed Orlando Pirates and a victory over Arrows would see Amakhosi boost their ambitions of securing a top-three finish.
Meanwhile, Arrows are also enduring a 10-match winless run across all competitions having lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United at home in a league game on February 28. This excludes the 3-0 win over Moroka Swallows which the KZN club got following a ruling by the PSL Disciplinary Committee.
Abafana Bes'thende are placed 10th on the DStv Premiership standings - six points behind sixth-placed Chiefs and a victory over Amakhosi would see Arrows boost their hopes of securing a top-eight finish.
TEAM NEWS
Chiefs will be without Edmilson Dove who is suspended after being sent off against Swallows while Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and George Matlou remain sidelined by their respective injuries.
Arrows, on the other hand, have no suspension worries coming into this match and the club is yet to report any injuries so far.
WHAT WAS SAID?
Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson
“We need to be more clinical in the last third of the game. I think we did do that [threaten in the final third] in two patches of the game," Johnson said.
"We again didn't concede, which is a big plus. But it's not good enough coming after a loss. Now we need to pick ourselves up. It's two days before the next game against Golden Arrows.
"We are going to come out again to get the three points against Arrows.”
Golden Arrows coach Mabhuti Khenyeza
"What frustrates me is that, not because the team doesn’t play, we created great chances, and you need to have that killer instinct," Khenyeza said.
“[When more you miss them], the opposition lives in hope and that is what happened here. I don’t think it’s luck, it’s a responsibility that we need to take because if we talk about luck, we must take responsibility.
“I think many of you can testify that we are making many mistakes, we put them under pressure, we play with speed up front, but we are failing, and teams should have been dead in the first-half, if we converted them.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Ranga Chivaviro, Chiefs: The experienced striker, who scored 10 league goals for Marumo Gallants last season, was recalled to the starting line-up against Swallows. Chivaviro will be keen to reward Johnson's faith in him by inspiring the team to a win over Arrows.
Moyela Libamba, Arrows: The Zambian striker marked his debut in South African football by scoring against TS Galaxy on 18 February and he will now be looking to play an instrumental role in helping his side secure a much-needed victory over Chiefs.
