As we approach the first full weekend of sport in this month, we thought we would get former Protea cricketer and now SuperSport commentator/presenter Chris Morris to tell us a little about himself, and what he's looking forward to as March madness hits us...
Who are you and what do you do?
I was a late bloomer in cricket when it comes to breaking into the professional circuit. It was my dream to play cricket professionally and the dream of playing for the Proteas was my driving force!
To have played professional cricket would have been enough but to represent my country is, and always will be, my greatest cricketing achievement. The IPL and other leagues with the success of silverware were added bonuses, with lots of ups and downs, but cricket was an amazing chapter in my life that set up so many good things!

Take us through your SuperSport journey
My teammates will tell you that I had a bad case of verbal diarrhea so it made sense to hopefully one day put it to use!
To be able to watch the game that I love and talk about it is probably the best job in the world!
The Betway SA20 was the biggest stepping stone in my commentating career after retiring from cricket. The learnings I took out of season one from all of the crew at SuperSport have been invaluable!
The SuperSport journey has been an incredible one…meeting and working with some of my heroes has been unbelievably cool.
SuperSport has provided me a way to educate and hopefully help people fall in love with the game that we all love.
Which sports do you enjoy watching and why?
Cricket takes up a lot of TV time at home but any sport to be honest!
The Premier League and golf will always be on, but, like any South African, rugby is up there!
The Springboks are the heartbeat of our sporting nation in my opinion.
SuperSport turned 30 year last year, and it was great to go back over some highlights. What were the top highlights for you?
30 years is amazing! There have been so many cricketing memories, but a few that stand out are the Proteas beating Australia in Oz for the first time in test cricket; the 438 game and - of course - becoming World Test champions!
Share a personal highlight from your time at SuperSport?
Being part of every Betway SA20 has been something I’m very proud of, but to have commentated on test cricket was an amazing experience…loved every second of it...
What’s your guilty viewing pleasure?
Probably two guilty viewing pleasures:
Golf will always be on.
And Wild Earth (channel 183)…love the bush!
Looking at all the sport happening in March – what will you be watching?
The T20 World Cup final and the Proteas tour to New Zealand; the Premier League season drama; all the URC action and - of course! - LIV Golf at Steyn City.
