Mugello provides the latest test for the MotoGP riders as they prepare to do battle at the Gran Premio d'Italia

Just two points separate Francesco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi atop the rider's championship with the pair set to challenge for victory in their home race.

Brad Binder waits in the wings for the Italians to slip up, as the South African finds himself sitting third in the championship, 13 points adrift of Bagnaia.

Last year the Italian contingent really showed up for their home race with Fabio Di Giannantonio taking pole ahead of compatriots Bezzecchi and Luca Marini with Bagnaia coming from fifth on the grid to win the race.

Add to the mix Franco Morbidelli and there will be five Italians entering the weekend's festivities. With the Sprint Race now on the schedule we can expect even more hard racing from the local boys as they aim to give the crowd some homegrown delight.
