England's Justin Rose said on Tuesday he still holds hope of winning a long-awaited second major title, as he bids to finish the year with a flourish.
The 46-year-old will compete for the first time at the India Championship this week at the picturesque Delhi Golf Club.
He is part of an elite field including six-time major winner Rory McIlroy, defending champion Tommy Fleetwood and reigning British Open champion Ryan Fox.
Rose has struggled for his best form since finishing tied-third at the Masters earlier this year, when he led heading into the back nine on Sunday.
His only major title remains his 2013 US Open triumph at Merion, since when Rose has posted eight top-five finishes without adding to his tally in the sport's biggest events.
"I've been able to build a nice resume, but I'd love to push myself to win another major championship," Rose told reporters ahead of Thursday's first round in Delhi.
"It's more than that, though. I'm playing golf now for the memories – to build that memory bank for when I look back on my career...
"You have to keep putting yourself in the biggest situations in golf, whether that's coming down the stretch in a major or standing on the first tee at a Ryder Cup.
"Those are the moments I'm playing for."
Nestled in the heart of the Indian capital, the DGC course offers a tough challenge, with golfers happy to keep their drivers in the bag.
Rose said his ability to conquer different types of courses helps him compete against often much younger rivals.
"What has made me a great player through the years is being able to work my way around tough golf courses, to plan strategy, obviously the mental side when you need it," he said.
"So those are the things that I need to continue to do to stay strong... What I do know is I am capable of driving the ball well enough to be incredibly competitive."
Rose returns to cricket-crazy India, 22 years since he played a skins tournament outside New Delhi.
He talked up his friendship with former England cricket star Kevin Pietersen and his love for the sport.
"I know Kevin Pietersen quite well – we live in the same area back in England and I understand he'll be around the golf tournament this week," said Rose.
"I'm looking forward to having some fun along the way. Maybe some batting, or I might bowl my famous googly!"
