With Betway SA20 set to make an exciting return starting on 10 January 2024 , title sponsors of the competition, Betway, are excited to once again be taking the stakes higher, as the globally acclaimed sports betting and entertainment brand proudly announces the return of the Betway Catch R2 Million campaign.
The innovative addition to the League was an outstanding success in Season 1, with a number of fans getting their share of the R2 Million prize money through a one-handed clean catch off a six during all Betway SA20 matches.
South Africa’s premier T20 cricket league has assembled some of the world’s best batters to set the second season alight, that will also significantly increase the chances for fans in the stands at the life-changing catch.
Fans attending matches will be treated to an amplified stadium experience, to merge with a line-up of top South African entertainment artists and world-class cricket.
Betway SA20 League Commissioner, Graeme Smith, says elevating the fan experience is an important priority for Season 2 of the League.
"Fan engagement is at the heart of every great sporting event, and the Betway Catch R2 million competition is no exception,” Smith said. “The excitement that the competition brought to the fans in Season 1 was unmatched, we saw how the Catch R2 million fever spread across the six stadiums and beyond, it's fantastic to have it back for Season 2. Betway customers around the country who are not able to make it to the matches will have the chance to predict in which zone of the stadium a clean one-handed catch will be taken. Customers that correctly predict the zone will stand a chance to win the same amount as those fans who take the catch live in stadium.
As in the previous season, by virtue of being a Betway customer, account holders will have their winnings doubled should they be the lucky winners of a one-handed catch.
Betway SA20 will take place between 10 January – 10 February 2024 in Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha, Johannesburg and Paarl. The first match takes place at St George’s Park in Gqeberha when defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape host Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday 10 January.
