Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze is hopeful that their winning start to the new year will give his team more confidence for their CAF Confederation Cup clash with ZESCO United at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday, 25 January.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
Current form:
The Glamour Boys returned to action after the extended mid-season break with a narrow 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership on January 20 which saw Aden McCarthy score his first senior goal for the club.
Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef's side are now unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions, having brought the curtain down on 2025 with back-to-back 0-0 draws against Chippa United and TS Galaxy.
However, Amakhosi will be desperate to get their continental campaign up and running after a 1-1 stalemate with Zamalek on November 28 left them winless in Group D.
The Soweto giants, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Al Masry on matchday 1, are three points behind the White Knights and a further two adrift of the Green Eagles in third place.

Zega Mambo bring up the rear in the group after losing their opening two encounters against Zamalek (1-0) and Al Masry (3-2).
George Lwandamina's side are struggling domestically though, after winning just three of their last seven outings in the Zambia Super League since the visit of the Green Eagles to Ndola on 28 November.
But ZESCO will be buoyed by their record against Chiefs, having won both of their previous two meetings in the same competition almost exactly seven years ago (3-1 at home and 2-1 away).
What was said:
Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze
"It gives us the freedom and more confidence to keep playing, just a little bit frustrated we couldn't score a second goal and kill the game. But I'm very happy with the three points.
"It's true that these three points of 2026 are going to give us even as coaches more calmness to work with less pressure and we hope that it's going to give us a good momentum going into our Sunday game in the CAF Confederation Cup."
Players to watch:
ZESCO United - Amine Hiver propelled Zega Mambo into the group stages with four goals in the qualifying rounds, scoring in each of his three starts in the competition.
The 27-year-old striker came off the bench in their Group D opener against Zamalek, but was surprisingly left out of the squad for their next game. Lwandamina will have a decision to make ahead of an important fixture against Chiefs with his top scorer waiting in the wings.
Kaizer Chiefs - Flavio Silva has made a bright start to his career at Naturena, scoring four goals in his first eight top-flight appearances. Now that the 29-year-old striker has found his feet in South Africa, he will be looking to maker a similar impact in the CAF Confederation Cup after coming off the bench in Chiefs' last two continental matches.
