Finalists revealed at the Indoor Hockey IPT 2025

Three superb days of action have culminated in the final day on Saturday in Johannesburg. Championships, relegations and promotions are all up for grabs on the last day of action at the SPAR & Tops at SPAR Indoor Hockey IPT 2025.
MEN’S A SECTION
Pool Stage
The pool stage was completed in the morning before attention turned to the semifinals in the evening.
Northern Blues secured their semifinal spot with a Richard Porter hat-trick inspired 7-4 win over SG Witsies
KZN Raiders also scored seven, which included a Tyler Tomsett hat-trick in a 7-2 win over Mpumalanga and a confirmed Semi-Final appearance
Western Province did enough to defeat their “B Side” WP Peninsula 4-2, having trailed 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining to secure top spot in their pool.
Southern Gauteng continued their fine form, beating KZN Mynahs 6-1with another three goals scored by Liam Hermanus
5-8 Playoffs
SG Witsies maintained their A Section status by defeating Mpumalanga in their playoff. After a thrilling 4-4 draw, the game went to a shootout where Witsies won 2-0 as Byron Comley scored the winner.
WP Peninsula will also maintain their place in the A Section in 2026 as they defeated the KZN Mynahs 7-3. Dean Carrick was on fire netting four times for Pens in a comfortable victory
Semi Finals
Southern Gauteng were too good for Northern Blues. Ryan Mann helped inspire his team to a big 5-0 win and a place in the final of the 2025 SPAR & Tops at SPAR Indoor IPT.
Western Province will have the opportunity to defend their crown as they defeated the KZN Raiders 4-3. Hans Neethling’s hat-trick made it 4-1 before a nervy finish, but the holders will have the chance to lift the title again on Saturday.
WOMEN’S A SECTION
5-8 Playoffs
WP Peninsula and North West could not be separated after a 2-2 draw. Pens had led
2-0 before being pegged back. Peninsula would hold their nerve to win the shootout 2-0.
SG Witsies levelled their match with a final minute strike by Siliziwe Mxinwa to draw with Mpumalanga. However, the lowveld side triumphed in the shootout scoring the only goal through Gia Henning.
Semi Finals
Southern Gauteng produced an incredible fightback to score twice through Paris-Gail Isaacs in the final minute against Northern Blues to earne an incredible 3-3 draw. Southerns however struck in the shootout with Sarah Paget starring to send the hosts to the final.
Western Province eliminated the defending champions KZN Raiders in a big victory. Kayla de Waal scored a hat-trick, while a brace from Malikah Hamza made it 6-0 to confirm a new champion in 2025.
