After a lengthy international break, South Africa domestic football returns to action as four midweek fixtures signal the recommencement of the Betway Premiership.
In order to honour their CAF Champions League fixture at the weekend, reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns returned to the Betway Premiership summit after claiming a comfortable 2-0 win against Orbit College at Loftus Versfeld in the first match of the new year on Monday.
Goals in each half from Arthur Sales and new signing Brayan Leon took Miguel Cardoso's side one point above Orlando Pirates, who now have two games in hand.
The action continues on Tuesday as Kaizer Chiefs face Lamontville Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

AmaKhosi have enjoyed their league campaign so far and sit in fourth place on the standings with 24 points, four behind first place.
They have not lost a league game since 16 August, which is their only loss of the league campaign, and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run by defending home soil.
Golden Arrows will be looking to turn its fortunes around, having ended 2025 with three straight losses in the league.
Abafana Bes'thende have collected 16 points from 14 games and will be looking to trade-up from 10th place on the standings.
Kicking-off at the same time, Sekhukhune United will face a new-look Stellenbosch under the guidance of legendary manager Gavin Hunt at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Babina Noko will look to keep the pressure at the top of the table as they sit in third place with 25 points from 13 games.
The Limpopo-based side were busy in the break, making three signings including that of Bradley Mojela, who could feature against his former employer.
Stellenbosch have struggled in the 2025/26 campaign and sit one point above the relegation zone with 12 from 14 games.
Hunt will be looking to inspire in his first game in charge of the cape winelands team, who have lost Mojela and New Zealand international Andre de Jong in the transfer window. They have bolstered their ranks with the signings of Mosa Lebusa, Tshegofatoso Mabasa and Kobamelo Kodisang.
The last midweek fixture presents a mid-table battle between TS Galaxy and Marumo Gallants at the Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm CAT.
The Rockets are eighth on the standings with 21 points after 14 games, while Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are four places behind with 15 points after the same amount of games.
TS Galaxy are unbeaten in their last three league games and will be looking to continue their streak without Puso Dithejane, who completed a move to Chicago Fire in the MLS.
Gallants will be renewed with confidence after narrowly falling to Pirates in the Carling Knockout final before the break, and will look to end a four game winless run.
