As the 2024 edition of the SA20 heads into its second stanza, the various Hollywoodbets Dolphins stars littered across the tournament continue to make their mark.
At the beginning of the second half of the competition, Dolphins and Proteas star Keshav Maharaj guided his Durban’s Super Giants to a bonus point win over MI Cape Town at Newlands.
This victory saw the Super Giants jump to the top of the table, level on points with the Paarl Royals.
Jon-Jon Smuts has become an important cog in the Super Giants machine with both the bat and ball so far this campaign.
The Royals side, also led by a Dolphins star in David Miller, have been the form side of the competition to date and Miller isn’t the lone Dolphins player in the Paarl line-up.
Andile Phehlukwayo has played in every match so far in the competition for the Royals and has contributed with both bat and ball to see them sitting top of the log with a game in hand.
In third place on the overall log are 2023 champions the Sunrisers Eastern Cape who have started to hit their stride after an indifferent start to the competition.
Making waves with the ball for the Sunrisers is Dolphins paceman Ottniel Baartman.
The seamer has played four of the five matches that the Sunrisers have had this season and has picked up eight wickets in the process.
These eight wickets include a Player of the Match performance, producing 4/12 against the Pretoria Capitals in Gqeberha recently.
Among the Pretoria Capitals squad there are two Dolphins that have featured so far.
Eathan Bosch, who won the Young Player of the Tournament in 2023, has featured in all their matches so far while Daryn Dupavillon has played three matches so far in the competition.
A number of other Dolphins players are dotted around the franchises and wait patiently for their opportunity to shine in what is proving to be a hard-fought tournament with all teams still in with a chance of the play-offs.
Speaking about his chargers and their contributions to the competition so far, Dolphins head coach Imraan Khan is happy to see his players playing significant roles across the tournament.
“We’ve had some guys put in some match-winning performances and that is always great to see,” Khan said.
“The level of cricket has been very high and as a coaching staff here at the Dolphins we are excited by how our boys are contributing to their teams.
“We hope that the players are learning as much as they can from some quality international and local players.”
