The opening game of the tournament will see South Africa, led by their charismatic captain Dayaan Cassiem, take on Argentina in a mouth-watering opening encounter.

The South Africans will be looking to build on their victory at the FIH Hockey Nations Cup and make a statement to the rest of the teams in the tournament.

“We are incredibly excited to get under way here in India. We are tremendously excited by the opportunity to represent our country and challenge the best nations in the world. The SA Men will give it 100 per cent from the first whistle to the last.

We know we are playing for something bigger than ourselves! Thank you for all the support from home!”

Cassiem and his team will be eager to prove their worth on the world stage and show that they have what it takes to go far in the tournament and ruffle a few feathers.

In recent tournaments the South Africans have accounted for a number of Top 10 opposition in their performances and will not be phased by being the lowest ranked team in their pool.

South Africa begin their campaign against Argentina on Friday before taking on France on Monday and Australia next Monday to complete their group stage.

Crossovers and quarterfinals take place after that as the destination of the champions slowly reveals itself.

All games are available on Watch Hockey and SuperSport in South Africa.

The tournament promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience, and we can't wait to see the teams in action. Let the games begin!
