The World Superbike Championship, Race 1, scheduled for Saturday at Indonesia's Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, has been postponed till Sunday due to severe wet weather conditions.
Following a heavy thunderstorm in the afternoon at the circuit, the start was initially delayed but the weather deteriorated further, forcing organisers to postpone Race 1 to Sunday morning at 11h00, in order to keep riders safe from the treacherous conditions.
Race one is set to be championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu's first chance at winning the 2021 WorldSBK title as he leads Jonathan Rea by 30 points, while Scott Redding is a further 36 points behind Rea.
