Honda's Iker Lecuona secured his maiden WorldSBK pole at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya ahead of Kawasaki riders Alex Lowes and Jonathan Rea on Saturday.
The start of the Superpole had light rain falling, and early on Ducati rider Loris Baz had a big slide when the rear wheel slipped out at turn one and he slid into the gravel.
Lecuona went on to set a time of 1:40.766s to go quicker than Yamaha's Toprak Razgatlioglu, before Lowes went quicker to go second, 0.023s behind the Honda rider.
Rea came next in third (+0.217s) and was followed by Yamaha's Andrea Locatelli then Ducati's Alvaro Bautista and Garrett Gerloff on the Yamaha in sixth.
Seventh was Ducati rider Axel Bassani, ahead of Razgatlioglu, while closing out the top 10 were Xavi Vierge on the Honda and in 10th was the Ducati of Michael Rinaldi.
