Ducati's Alvaro Bautista extended his World Superbike championship lead after dominating Race 1 in Italy at Misano, he was followed by Jonathan Rea (+5.128s) and Michael Rinaldi in third on Saturday.
At the start, Yamaha's Toprak Razgatlioglu got the better of Bautista at turn one then at turn 8, Kawasaki's Rea overtook both for the early lead.
Then shortly afterwards a mistake by Rea allowed Razgatlioglu and Bautista to be ahead.
On lap three, Rea made a double overtake and thereafter started to break clear of Razgatlioglu on lap four, but Bautista pounced at turn 10 to overtake the Yamaha rider and started to reel in Rea as he set his fastest lap of the race.
On lap 10, Bautista attempted to take the lead from Rea [turn 8], but ran wide allowing the six-time Superbike champion to remain ahead.
With nine laps to go Bautista made move at Curvone [turn 11] to get past Rea.
Bautista then surges ahead of Rea, but drama followed for Razgatlioglu as he began to slow down coming out of turn 16 and was forced to eventually retire with an apparent technical issue.
Bautista won the race comfortably +5.128s ahead of second-placed Rea with Ducati rider Rinaldi getting the final podium.
In fourth came, Axel Bassani (Ducati) ahead of Alex Lowes (Kawasaki), Andrea Locatelli (Yamaha) and in seventh was Xavi Vierge of Team HRC.
The top 10 was rounded off by - Garrett Gerloff (Yamaha), Spain's Iker Lecuona (Team HRC) and in 10th was Scott Redding of Britain on his BMW.
