Oh man! What an incredible finale! It was such an emotional final day of the SuperSport MVP Talent Search Show.

There were so many tears from the contestants, their families and even the judges themselves. The competition that has been rolling for a couple of months came to an incredible end with Anelisa Jaxa being named the Ultimate MVP.

What started with auditions from five provinces and culminating with over 2 500 entries in both live and online entries has ended in 10 contestants joining the astounding World of Champions.

The 10 MVPs went through a number of challenges and more live auditions in studio and live matches to get to the last round of the competition.

TWISTS

The show has kept us at the edges of our seats for two months as we experienced some shocks, twists and laughter as the MVPs warmed their way to our hearts in pursuit of their sports broadcast dreams.

When Anelisa started in his journey in the competition, he displayed his passion for sport and his eagerness to grow in the world of sports broadcasting. Anelisa will be joining his peers and idols in bringing you the best of sports broadcasting over the next year.

'MATHOUSAND'

His experience as a commentator at kasi and township tournaments played a huge role in putting him in the driving seat of the competition. In all the challenges throughout the competition he showed not only great confidence but also the willingness to learn and improve.

He is the only contestant that won any prize money in the competition challenges and earned himself the nickname 'Mathousand'. He said the money would go a long way in him putting money aside towards lobola. How cute is that? He has such a sweet a warm and sweetheart.

Anelisa’s contribution throughout the competition didn’t only win over the judges but he also won the hearts of thousands of sports fans around the country. The fans’ vote counted for 25 percent of the final vote.

Deloitte acted as the major auditors for the public voting and provided independent external audit services for the competition.

SUPERSPORT JUDGES

Resident judges, Neil Andrews, Motshidisi Mohono and Carol Tshabalala looked proud as they gave the top 10 contestants feedback on their performances and growth over the last two months.

The winner gets to take home the R200 000 cash price as well as a voucher from Edgars while second place takes R150 000 and R100 000 will go to the third placed MVP in the competition.

All these contestants will also be contracted with SuperSport for a year.

Yvette Mhlauli was the third placed MVP with Relebogile Mabawa taking the second spot. Angel Thekiso, Bongi Mgoqi as well as Delucia Daniels were the other MVPs who made the top six of the competition.

SuperSport’s Hope Mbhele and Tshego Koke hosted the SuperSport MVP Talent Search Show which hopefully has found South Africa’s next generation of sports broadcasters!
