After months of planning and preparation, Netball South Africa and South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) on Wednesday announcd the 12-person team to represent South Africa at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Commonwealth Games will take place between 23 July and 2 August in Scotland.
"We are confident that the team we have selected will represent our country well. Within our extended squad we have exceptional players that have put in the hard work over the past couple of seasons, they are all ambitious and eager to represent South Africa and that is why a lot of time and diligence has gone into the selection process, to ensure we consider all our options and select the players that fit into the game plan, objectives, and mandates of the assignment at hand." said Jenny van Dyk, South Africa Netball Team Head Coach.
The team consists of players who are playing both in South Africa and abroad.
For the duration of the Commonwealth Games, the netball team will not be referred to as the SPAR Proteas — they will however form part of Team South Africa under the stewardship of SASCOC.

The chosen players are: Khanyisa Chawane; Kamogelo Maseko; Tarle Mathe; Owethu Ngubane; Refiloe Nketsa; Karla Pretorius; Nicola Smith; Rolene Streutker; Elmere van der Berg; Jamie Golob; Karla Victor and Sanmarie Visser.
Netball South Africa President Mami Diale added: “We would like to wish Coach Jenny, her management team and entire squad everything of the best as they head to the Commonwealth Games. We have full confidence in them, and we know for sure that they will do their utmost best to represent the country well. As we hand them over to SASCOC, we do so with pride, knowing that this is our best team for this task and they will do well to represent us and the country at large.”
