While Cameroon have already qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Namibia are hoping to end their remaining Group J obligations on a high when the two nations do battle at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 3pm (CAT, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

The Brave Warriors remain without a win during their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and head into their final set of Group J encounters on the back of four straight defeats.

Following their clash against Cameroon, Namibia will then take on Kenya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on 19 November.

While Namibia sit at the bottom of Group J, Cameroon have accumulated 10 points from their first four 2025 Afcon qualifying matches.

The Indomitable Lions are yet to lose a game in their respective qualifiers and recorded a 1-0 win against Kenya at the Mandela National Stadium last time out.

Also, Cameroon emerged victorious when the two nations met in matchday one of their 2025 Afcon qualifying campaign, as Vincent Aboubakar’s 65th-minute strike decided matters at Stade Omnisports Roumdé Adjia on 7 September.

WHAT WAS SAID

Reflecting on the upcoming tie, Namibia head coach Collin Benjamin expressed that his side gave a good account of themselves during their 2025 Afcon qualifying bid.

“It’s definitely not the results we were hoping for, especially after making history in January at Afcon in Cote D’ivoire, so we are disappointed but we know this is how football works,” Benjamin said.

“The team competed very well, the boys went out there despite all the issues back home and did their best and that is evident in the defeat margins, which are very small. We take the defeats head on and dust ourselves off and keep fighting because that is what we are made of.

“We are out of the competition but that doesn’t mean the upcoming games will be a run in the park, all the other teams want to qualify and we are going to make it worth their while.”

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Namibia: Peter Shalulile – While Shalulile may have struggled for positive form at club level this season, the Mamelodi Sundowns star remains a pivotal player for the Namibian national team. The striker is expected to get the nod against Cameroon on Wednesday, especially as one of his nation’s most experienced players currently.

Cameroon: Bryan Mbuemo – Mbuemo is arguably Cameroon’s most in-form player at the moment and has reportedly attracted interest from a number of top Premier League clubs this season. The Brentford attacker will no doubt be eager to maintain his influential form during the current international break.
