Glasgow put Toulon out of their Champions Cup misery on Friday with a 29-5 victory to secure a place in the last-16 and leave the French side with a fourth loss in four games.

Three-time European champions Toulon are doomed to finish at the bottom of Pool 3 leaving them also without the consolation of a place in the second-tier Challenge Cup.

Winger Kyle Rowe and centre Huw Jones scored two tries apiece for the Scottish side with full-back Josh McKay adding a fifth score.

Winger Gael Drean scored Toulon's only try as the Top 14 side struggled to impose themselves in the absence of Esteban Abadie, Charles Ollivon and Melvyn Jaminet who are preparing for the start of the Six Nations.

In Pool 1, Connacht defeated Bristol 27-10 to end the English side's hopes of making the last-16.

The Irish side scored four tries with Bristol getting on the scoreboard only through a penalty try and three points from the boot of AJ MacGinty.

Shayne Bolton, Jack Aungier and Caolin Blade scored first half tries for Connacht as Bristol's challenge was undermined by an early red card for lock forward Josh Caulfield.

Andrew Smith added a fourth try after the break to secure the bonus point victory for Connacht.
