Racing 92 coach Stuart Lancaster said on Saturday South Africa's double Rugby World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi is only getting better after the flanker scored his first try for the French club in the 48-26 Champions Cup win over Cardiff.

Kolisi crossed after 25 minutes to help send the French outfit to the last 16 of the competition on just his eighth appearance for the Parisians.

The 32-year-old Springboks captain only arrived at La Defense Arena in October, a few weeks after lifting a second World Cup, also in the French capital.

"I'm really pleased with how Siya's integrated with the club. He really brings a lot of energy to the team," former England coach Lancaster said.

"I think he's just getting better."

Kolisi, who touched down for the first time since scoring against New Zealand in August, took over as skipper of the six-time French champions in the closing quarter of an hour with France centre Gael Fickou substituted.

"He's made a huge improvement and it's great for him to be rewarded with a try," added Lancaster.

"He became captain in the last 15 minutes so it's good for him as well, his leadership is good."
