Springbok hooker Malcolm Marx continued his superb try-scoring record in Japan League One on the weekend.

The workhorse crashed over the whitewash for his eighth try in ten appearances as the Kubota Spears eased past Shizuoko Blue Revs 40-27. The Blue Revs were captained by Springbok Kwagga Smith.

Forgotten Springbok backrower Marcell Coetzee scored a try in Kobe Steelers' 41-26 loss at the hands of the Black Rams.

Springbok centre and beanpole Lood de Jager combined to help the Wild Knights continue their form with a 41-26 victory over Suntory Sungoliath.

Springbok livewire Faf de Klerk and centre Jessie Kriel helped the Canon Eagles reel off 36 unanswered points to mount an epic comeback and beat the Mutsibishi Dynaboars 41-21.

Toyota Verblitz continued to improve with Springbok fullback Willie le Roux playing at flyhalf, trouncing the Kintetsu Liners 62-24. Bok hardman Pieter-Steph du Toit also ran out for Verblitz.

On the other side of the world in Premiership Rugby, Springbok duo Jasper Wiese and World Cup-winning flyhalf Handre Pollard, led by former SA U20 star Hanro Liebenberg, continued with great performances for the Leicester Tigers.

Wiese led the carry count for the match with 23, culminating in a try in the dying embers of the match. Meanwhile, Pollard kicked three out of four conversions as the Tigers mauled Gloucester 26-5.

All three du Preez brothers starred for the Sale Sharks as they went down 36-18 to London Irish. Jean-Luc would score a try, while his brother Rob - still slotting in at 13 to accommodate George Ford at flyhalf - kicked eight points.
