A host of overseas-based Springbok lifted silverware this past weekend.

Springbok winger Cheslin Kolbe was in sublime form as he helped Toulon to a comprehensive 43-19 win over the Glasgow Warriors in the Challenge Cup final on Friday.

The World Cup winner - who started at fullback - was superb in the air, with his kicking and on defense as he earned himself another Man of the Match accolade to go with his winners’ medal.

On Saturday at the same venue in Dublin, La Rochelle upset perennial favourites Leinster with a superlative comeback win. Down 17-0 after just 11 minutes, the French club clawed their way back to earn a stunning 27-26 victory to defend their Champions Cup. Just like last year, Springbok flyers Dillyn Leyds and Raymond Rhule started for the European giants.

On the other side of the world in Japan, three Springbok heavyweights squared off against each other in the League One final. Hooker Malcolm Marx started for the Kubota Spears, while Bok duo Damian de Allende and Lood de Jager ran out for the favourites, the Panasonic Wild Knights. But on the day, a late score from the Spears saw them clinch a 17-15 victory.

On Friday, Springbok scrumhalf started for the Canon Eagles as they clinched third place with a 26-20 win over Suntory Sungoliath.
