Handre Pollard received the call he had hoped he would get after being left out of the initial World Cup squad, but never thought would come.

After all, Pollard admits himself he had resigned himself to becoming a Springbok fan for the duration of the tournament.

And it caught him so off-guard that he thought Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus was kidding. And had to message him again.
