Isaac Chamberlain won the British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles on a unanimous 12-round points decision over defending champion Mikael Lawal on Saturday night at the York Hall in London.
From the opening bell Chamberlain took control and dominated the fight throughout to win with scores of 119-111 and 118-111 twice.
Chamberlain improved his record to 16-2; 8 and Lawal’s record dropped to 17-1; 11.

JACK CATTERALL OUTPOINTS JORGE LINARES
In a junior welterweight contest Jack Catterall (28-1; 13) won on a unanimous 12-round points decision over 38-year-old former multi-weight world champion Jorge Linares (47-9; 29) at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England on Saturday night.
Linares pushed forward throughout but battled to get past Catterall’s impressive jab. Catterall stunned Linares with a big shot driving him to the ropes before the end of round five.
The scores were 117-111, 116-112 twice as Linares suffered his fourth loss in a row.
GIOVANNI SANTILLAN UPSETS ALEXIS ROCHA
Giovani “Gallo de Oro” Santillan (32-0; 17) knocked out the No 1 rated WBO welterweight Alexis “Lex” Rocha (23-2; 15) in round six on Saturday night at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
Santillan dominated throughout, with Rocha’s nose bleeding early on, and scored two knockdowns in the fifth round before finishing him off with another knockdown in the sixth round.
The time was 1:13.
On the same card Los Angeles’s John “Scrappy” Ramirez (13-0; 9) won on a fourth-round knockout over Ronal Batista (15-4; 9) of Panama in a WBA junior bantamweight title eliminator.
Gabriela Fundora (12-0; 5) from Coachella, California, won the woman’s IBF flyweight title with a fifth-round knockout against Arely “Ametralladora” Muciño (32-4-2; 11) of Monterrey, Mexico.
FIRAT ARSLEN WINS WBA GOLD TITLE
Former world champion Firat Arslan (55-9-3; 40) won on a sixth-round knockout over Edin “Iron Puki” Puhalo (23-2; 22) to win the WBA gold cruiserweight title on Saturday night at the EWS Arena in Goeppingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The 53-year-old Arslan, who is listed at No 4 by the WBA, was in control against Puhalo, 35, who is listed as WBA No 5.
Arslan scored a knockdown in the second round and dropped Puhalo three times in the sixth round.
Time was 1:29.
NONTSHINGA TO DEFEND IBF TITLE ON NOVEMBER 4
South Africa’s Sivenathi Nontshinga is scheduled to defend his IBF junior flyweight title against Adrian Curriel Domingues of Mexico on Saturday, November 4, in Monte Carlo.
